The Vampire Weekend concert at the Paradiso was pretty great. Granted the fact that they are relatively unknown here in Amsterdam, the crowd was naturally “minimalistic”. We gave kudos to their laid-back, easy going attitude. For those who don’t know them, check out their demo entitled “Vampire Weekend: Blue CD-R”. It’s like a really good mix of post-punk, mixed with some afro-jamaican rythm, and then wrapped in funny, intelligent lyrics. Bizzare, yet very accessible and sugary at the same time. Good stuff.

A nice short documentary to give an insight to the increasingly rare craftmanship of letterpress.

Just stumbled across this video from the Japanese band Supercar. It’s made back in 2004, and although it’s a bit old, we still think it’s quite nice.

Typograhic Masonry exhibition with works from Richard Niessen at the Stedelijk Museum CS. Richard Niessen and Esther de Vries also designed the annual report for the Stedelijk Museum, which made the entries to the best Dutch books 2006.
